Introduction

HugeTen uses cookies, local storage, and similar browser technologies for essential platform functionality, authentication and session persistence, user preferences, security and abuse prevention, payment security, consent-based analytics, and user-initiated external content.

This policy describes those technologies, how they are used, and the choices available to you. Not all technologies apply to every visitor — what is used depends on how you use HugeTen.

Strictly Necessary Technologies

Certain technologies are necessary to provide requested functionality, maintain sessions and preferences, protect the service, or securely process payments. These do not require your consent because the relevant features cannot operate without them.

Authentication and Session

HugeTen's current browser authentication and session implementation uses local storage to persist your login session. This allows HugeTen to keep you signed in and authenticate your requests. This is not a cookie-based mechanism.

Consent Preference

HugeTen stores your analytics and advertising consent preference in local storage. The preference is stored under the key hugeten-consent. Both analytics and advertising default to denied before you make a choice.

Language Preference

HugeTen stores your selected display language in local storage under the key hugeten-lang. This allows HugeTen to remember your language across visits.

These HugeTen-controlled local storage items are not advertising trackers. They support essential platform functionality and user preferences.

Analytics — Google Analytics 4

HugeTen currently uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for optional, non-essential website analytics.

  • GA4 does not load until you grant analytics consent through the consent banner.
  • Analytics consent defaults to denied.
  • Advertising storage remains denied at all times.
  • IP anonymization is configured.
  • Google Signals are not used.
  • Advertising features are not used.

After you grant analytics consent, Google may use cookies or similar browser storage for analytics purposes. Google's use of that data is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

Consent Banner

On your first visit, before a preference has been stored, HugeTen displays a consent banner at the bottom of the page.

You can choose to:

  • Accept analytics — analytics is set to granted and advertising remains denied.
  • Reject analytics — analytics and advertising both remain denied.

Your choice is stored in local storage and persists across visits. Once you have made a choice, the consent banner does not appear again.

After making your initial choice, you can change your analytics preference at any time using the Cookie settings control on this page. You can also clear HugeTen site data or local storage through your browser settings, which will cause the consent banner to appear again.

Cloudflare Turnstile

HugeTen uses Cloudflare Turnstile for security, bot detection, and abuse prevention on the signup, login, and password-reset pages.

Turnstile may use cookies, browser storage, or other technical information as part of Cloudflare's security verification process. These technologies are controlled by Cloudflare.

HugeTen does not use Turnstile for analytics, advertising, or marketing.

Google Maps

Public business profiles on HugeTen can display an embedded Google Maps view showing the business location. The current implementation works as follows:

  • Embedded Google Maps content does not load automatically when you open a business profile.
  • You must click the “Load map” button before any map content is loaded.
  • Only then is Google Maps external content loaded, and Google may use cookies or similar browser technologies at that point.
  • This is separate from GA4 analytics consent. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from loading the map.
  • Your “Load map” choice is not stored by HugeTen. It resets when the page is reloaded.

A separate external Google Maps link may also open Google's website directly in a new browser tab. That link is governed by Google's own policies and does not load any Google content on the HugeTen page itself.

Stripe

HugeTen uses Stripe for payment functionality, including Crown purchases, auction bids, and payment-method setup.

Stripe.js and Stripe payment components may use cookies, browser storage, or similar technologies for payment functionality, fraud prevention, and security. These technologies are controlled by Stripe and are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.

HugeTen does not use Stripe technologies for HugeTen advertising or marketing tracking.

Advertising and Marketing Trackers

HugeTen currently does not use any of the following:

  • Advertising cookies
  • Remarketing or retargeting
  • Ad personalization
  • Google Ads tracking
  • Meta Pixel
  • TikTok Pixel
  • Marketing trackers

HugeTen's sponsored Crown placements are part of the marketplace service. They do not mean that HugeTen uses browser advertising trackers.

Third-Party Technologies

The third-party services described above — Google Analytics, Google Maps, Cloudflare Turnstile, Stripe, and Supabase (which provides platform infrastructure and authentication) — may process technical information according to their own applicable privacy and data-protection terms.

Managing and Deleting Technologies

You can accept or reject analytics through the consent banner before a choice is stored, or through the Cookie settings control on this page at any time. Non-essential GA4 analytics remains disabled unless you grant analytics consent.

You may also use your browser controls to delete cookies, site data, and local storage. Clearing HugeTen's stored consent preference causes the consent banner to appear again.

Google Maps external content remains user-initiated through the “Load map” button and does not load automatically.

Some essential, security, and payment technologies are required when you choose to use the corresponding functionality — for example, authentication storage is needed to stay signed in, and Stripe technologies are needed to process payments.
